richmke Posted August 2, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2021 Travel Insured's Worldwide Trip Protector plan has a Bed Rest option that pays a maximum of $4,000 if you are quarantined due to sickness or injury. I did not see a COVID exclusion. The wording in the policy is: "We will pay You, the amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, if while on a Trip, any of the following covered Unforeseen reasons occur: ..." 1) Is it a flat $4,000 if you are treated by a physician and quarantined for at least 48 hours? It didn't seem to talk about reimbursing for additional costs, etc. 2) Any thoughts on the option incase we catch COVID on a cruise (we are vaccinated). Thank you

Thank you Hi richmke, You are reimbursed up to a maximum of $4,000. Here's the policy wording: "OPTIONAL TRAVEL INCONVENIENCE We will pay You, the amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, if while on a Trip, any of the following covered Unforeseen reasons occur: 1. Bed Rest: You are treated by a Physician for a Sickness or Injury during Your Trip, and are required to stay on bed rest or is Quarantined to Your room for at least 48 hours; as prescribed by a Physician; The maximum limit payable between all events will not exceed the Travel Inconvenience Benefit limit shown in the Schedule of Benefits. This benefit may not be combined with Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay, Bag Delay, or Emergency Evacuation benefits. These benefit(s) will not duplicate any other benefits payable under the policy or any coverage(s) attached to the policy." I have never recommended this option because of the following wording: "This benefit may not be combined with Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Trip Delay, Bag Delay, or Emergency Evacuation benefits." The reason is because if you are put in a medically imposed quarantine this is covered under a combination of the Trip Interruption and Trip Delay benefits.
