Lagunachris Posted January 26, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2022 We are booked on the May 24 Athens to Venice voyage that visits numerous ports on the Black Sea. If the Black Sea is out due to current issues in the area, will Silversea let us cancel this first part of this back to back cruise and refund our money? If this first cruise is changed, we would like to just do the 2nd part of the cruise which sails to Croatia and Venice. thanks
daddyo Posted January 26, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2022 We were originally booked on the Black Sea portion of the Shadow Mediterranean Grand voyage this past September. Due to COVID restrictions in Turkey and Georgia the route was changed to the Greek islands. We were given the opportunity to cancel with a 110% Credit. We decided to accept the changes and really enjoyed the cruise. Hope this helps.
bohaiboy Posted January 26, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2022 We were on the Wind for a Black Sea cruise when Russia invaded Ukraine the first time. Our stops in Yalta and Sevastopol were cancelled, but we did stop in Sochi and Odessa. If those two ports are additionally removed there are not many other places to stop and I would think that leg might be cancelled or moved elsewhere. nowornever Posted January 27, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2022 There's so much time between now & then but with the current geo-political tensions right now & build-up of naval forces in the Black Sea, this itinerary becomes even more tenuous than the Shadow Black Sea fall cruise that was canceled, as mentioned by daddyo. Is that a possible liability that any cruise line wants to accept? There's enough going on health-wise. The cruise gods are not smiling right now. Again, as daddyo said, the change to the Greek Island itinerary would be a distinct possibility so maybe you'd be ok with that?
