Confused about taxis and beach ?

Do we just take a 4.00 pp taxi ride to beach and then wander or so we have to tell taxi driver a specific location like Krazy Lobster ?

If you know where you want to go you can ask to be taken there but keep in mind the malecon is pedestrian only so you will be dropped on the road one over inland that runs parallel to the coast. 
 

If you have no particular location in mind you can be dropped one end or the other or middle and wander. Keep in mind it is about 1 mile from one end to the other. 
 

In general if we haven’t specified we have been dropped at a parking location close to Tropicante and El Faro, you just walk one street over towards the ocean. El Faro is renowned  for over charging and best avoided, Tropicante is next door - careful which bar you are actually at, the numerous bars are often only separated by change of lounger colors or casual rope divider.
