March 13 Sailing - Non-Cruise Excursion Recommendations?

We are taking our son (age 9) on his first cruise for Spring Break.  Fingers crossed no Covid between now and the sailing.

 

Any recommendations for trust-worthy, reasonably priced non-cruise excursions in Grand Cayman?

Cayman is still closed to cruise ships.  I will be very surprised if you stop there on March 13.  March 2023, maybe, but not March 2022.

 

Until the island reopens to cruise ships, it’s really hard to tell what operators will resume operations.  There’s a few operating in a limited capacity right now, catering to locals and the minuscule number of land-based tourists, but nowhere near the number that were in business before the cruise ship stoppage.

 

You can check this website for ideas of what you’d like to do, if you are okay with possibly wasted efforts, and try contacting some of the operators to see if they’re still in business.

My cruise also leaves on 3/13th.  There has been some talk about Cayman re-opening.  I'm hopeful we're able to go.

Latest on GC opening I saw was that while the current restrictions are supposed to be lifted at the end of February,  cruise lines and the GC Government have yet to reach any accord regarding what cruise ships need to do to port there.  These things move at snails pace with any government involvement so look for an itinerary change in your future.

Sadly grand cayman isn’t open to ships until March 21st according to this

That is good and bad news.  Good that its re-opening... bad that its after our sailing 😞
