Wheelchair service at LAX

Is anyone familiar with the wheelchair service at LAX?  We will be flying in and out of there for a cruise.  My husband has mobility issues and will need assistance from drop off to the gate and back.  I know most airports provide this but we very rarely fly and haven't done so in many years.  Can you just request it when the taxi drops you off?  Will they wait with you thru security?  When you deplane will they take you to the baggage area?  Thank you for your help.

Request the service through your airline for your round trip. My wife uses one all the time. She is taken from the check in counter all the way to stepping on the plane. Same will be done for you at your destination when picking up your luggage, and if you have connecting flights they will take you from one plane to the other.
