We were just on the HAL Rotterdam and rerouted from Half Moon Cay to Bimini.  The only shore excursion the ship was offering was a beach pass to Resort World.  It included a shuttle.  I believe the charge was $40/pp.

According to a YouTube video on Bimini, and with what Carnival is offering on their website, the Resort World is $39 or $69, with the $69 including lunch. The YouTube video said to skip the $69 as lunch at the RW is $15 on site, meaning Carnival is pocketing the other $15.  The Tram is free for all, so the choices are:

1) Ride the Tram to Beach360: no cost, no pool, free chairs and umbrellas.

2) Ride the Tram to Resort World: pay $39, get pool access, beach access, chairs & umbrellas.

3) Ride the Tram to RW, pay $69, get the above and a $15 meal (burger/sandwich, etc)

4) Ride the Tram  to Paradise Beach, no facilities, pay maybe $25 per chair, per umbrella

5) Ride the Tram to RW, walk to the golf cart rental site, rent for $60 (4-seater), sightsee and visit numerous free beaches with no facilities.

6) Stay on the ship.

We’re going in late Sept, will do #2 as there were reports (last year) of jellyfish ruining the beach thingy.  Not gonna risk it.

There is a place nearby the resort where you can rent golf carts for the day for $50-$60. You can then drive up and down the King's Highway into Alice Town. Eat lunch one of the local hole-in-the-wall beach shacks, buy some Bimini bread in a local bakery, visit a local souvenir stand, etc.
