Royal Genie (royal Caribbean Star class)

Recommended Posts

Never had this level service before but decided to splurge and book it for our Ovation cruise in August.

Can anyone share their experience using a “royal genie” and what to tip them at the end of the cruise?
What service can we expect?

People have there own idea of tipping so it’s subjective. We tipped $100 per person per day. But use your discretion and what’s comfortable for you. We had outstanding service from our genie. There are several links to other’s experiences. Maybe someone more experienced on the threads will chime in and send you in the right direction.  We didn’t ask for much but our most recent genie Allan F. Anticipated our needs and took care of any challenges.  We never waited for anything and anything we needed we received. Stocked minibar, treats in the room returning from excursions, surprise gifts from him throughout, and he made sure my pre-teen daughter had a blast.

Just want to clarify, because this is often misstated. Do you mean $100/per day, $100/pp or truly $100 per person per day? The later would indicate $2,800 for a party of 4, on a 7 day cruise.

Tips are all over the place. Min seems to be $200. Max I've seen is $2-3K. A good average is $4-700 for a 7 day cruise.

For some good info on the star level service, try the site that rhymes with lace look. Look for Star Class Cruisers.

We had ovation star class in Alaska 3 years ago.   Wendy was our Genie she was amazing.  We tipped her $500.  We are not high maintenance and didn’t utilize her like others might.  We didn’t ask for anything special while we were on the ship.
