Juneau Whale Watch

We will be in Juneau next Monday, waited a little too long to book a small tour, and all the 6 person boat tours seem to be full. Is it possible to find a tour upon arrival or are we better booking a little larger tour in advance ? have & Marv have room on the 18 person tour. Thanks for any input.

When I was there the first week of May, there were tour booths at the dock booking several types of tours, but you are probably better off to book in advance. The 18 person tour is still much better than the larger boats used by most ship excursions.

 

I booked the Whale Watch & Mendenhall Glacier Combo tour with Juneau Whale Watch and was very satisfied. There were only 22 on our tour (the boat probably holds 30 - 35), and there were no issues with everyone getting a good viewing spot on the front, back or top deck. They also allow you extended time at the glacier vs other companies, with a return bus running every 30 minutes so you can choose when to return to the ship.

Grab the spots with Harv & Marv while you can. If you can't get the 6-person boat trip online this close to the day, I doubt it will happen when you get there.

We had good trips with Juneau Whale Watch and are doing our 4th with them this morning. We had 28 passengers on our trip with them last week. There was a lot of room for viewing at the rail.

Thanks all for your kind help, I went back to book the 18 person boat, and sure enough 2 spots had opened on a 6 person. Greatly appreciate your responses.
