Well, Regal is circling over Mediterranean this summer. You may book 7, 14 or even 21 days. My family booked a 14 days trip long time ago.   While now my in-laws try to join, not much room left to select. But there are much more room choices if you look as two individual 7 days trip. Cost-wise difference is minimum. For us Barcelona is a regular port day but that's also the embark for the 2nd trip.  Wondering , anyone has experiences how that may be managed? They are willing to change rooms but don't want to lost too much time from visiting Barcelona.

On or before the turn over day, you and your in-laws should receive the second voyage cruise cards. If you decide to treat Barcelona as a regular port day, you can use the first cruise card to exit the ship but cannot return the ship before a certain time, i.e. 11:30 (plus or minus). After that, you board the ship using the new card, bypassing the registration line. You will go to the same cabin. Your in-laws will go to a different cabin. No time is lost.

From reading your post it appears that Barcelona is the end of their first 7 days. It will be treated  just like you, a regular port day. You can book tours stay on board or do whatever you like.

If they have to change cabins this will be arranged by the cabin steward. Discuss in advance. Tips for changing cabins. Place as much on hangers in the closet as possible. These items will be moved as is and hung in your next cabin. Place other items in your suitcase. These will be moved to your next cabin. Remove items from the cabin safe. Visit your next cabin steward in advance to introduce yourself. Cabins have to be vacated by 8am. You should be able to place items into your new cabin safe shortly afterwards.

The onboard accounts will roll over and there will be one final invoice at the end of the 2 weeks.

Unless procedures have changed you are not required to leave the ship in Barcelona as mentioned in the previous posting. It's treated just like any other port day.
