Drink Upgrade Question

So it's been years since I have been on a Celebrity (or any) cruise. Is it still the way that if you have a basic drink package you can order premium you just have to pay the difference? TIA

Yes, you'll just be charged the difference + 20% gratuity.  If you do the math based on how much you drink, you may find it's actually cheaper to upgrade to the premium pkg.

That's what I'm thinking so just trying to do the math. Do you pay the full 20% or only the 20% for the difference?

The correct math points one to 20% on the difference, otherwise that would mean service charge on a service charge.

20% only on the difference in price.
