LDinCT Posted February 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Would you take a balcony on the Noordam 10 day out of NYC v. an outside on the Zaandam Sunfarer to Panama Canal? No more balconies left for our dates. Certainly Panama Canal is an exciting itin, but no balcony? 10 days is a long time to be without a balcony. What do we think? RuthC Posted February 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2006 First, I'd be comparing length of cruise, cost, and itinerary (including number of sea days). Then I'd decide what I wanted. For me, a longer cruise is a high priority, as are many sea days. For you, it seems a balcony means more than it would to me. Sounds to me like these are two really different cruises---especially when you consider the cabin choices.
BM64 Posted February 28, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Altough you do not say when you are considering, at this time of year you have at least a day and a half of very cool weather each way on the Noordam and probably not be able to use your balcony that much. The Zaandam good weather right from the start. Also, it looks like you have the bonus of no airfare if you choose the Noordam. Tough choice but no wrong choice!! Although, we are balcony people too. jhannah Posted March 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2006 I would go for having a verandah. Even in cool conditions, it's wonderful to get outside and enjoy the sea in private.
