That is so strange… because I was told that Turkey is number 1 producer of cherries in the world so I would think it would be even cheaper there.  I am staying close to the Central Market which is also close to the fruit market which probably why it is so cheap.  I mean 0.99E per kilo that’s like $0.50 per pound.  Back at home it is about $3.99-$4.99 per pound.

 

I went through Viator because of the USD to Euro conversion was very favorable.  The price was going down it was crazy.  Go with the street food tour with lunch option… it is a great tour.  You can do 1:30 PM or the one around 5:30PM.

Pre Cruise

 

Acropolis … I got up early so I can get there before 9:30 AM to beat the crowd and the sun.  Also use the the South side entrance by the Acropolis Museum… the line the much shorter and you get to see more before your climb.  I walked from the Moxy and it took about 24 minutes.  You can take the Metro to the Acropolis station.  The Metro is the way to go!

Buy your ticket in advance to save time.  Don’t get fooled by the skip the line some of the vendor advertises… there is no separate skip the line entry at the South Entrance… what you are skipping is the line to buy tickets.  There is a separate line that you go through to scan the tickets.  I got in less than 5 minutes with my combo ticket.

Acropolis… as you climb up there is a detour to see St.Mary the cave and of course I took the detour!

They build the sanctuary/ healing place close to the theater because they believed that laughter is important to healing …

Odeion of Herodes Atticus This stage / theater is an active stage… there was just an opera that took place … I hope it was during the cooler months…

Acropolis… back to the climb up … you really have to pay attention because the rocks are slippery even though it’s dry…uneven spaces… it’s not a theme park.
