Hotel recommendation requested

We will be flying into JFK for the Prima. Are there any recommendations to stay in the city or close to the airport and Uber? I appreciate your time to answer this question.

We stay at times square (Hilton Garden Inn). It's a few blocks from the port and provides lots to see and [cheaper] restaurants for food.
