prov2727 Posted August 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2022 This is related to the old thread I resurrected but could be affecting many others as it might not be specific to this sailing. Has anyone else that had their cruise canceled and received both a refund and FCC gone to use their FCC and been told that the FCC is actually "a discount coupon and any unused amount is forfeited as they are a ‘one-time use only’ coupon?" Have you ever had a cruise that you had paid for be retroactively assigned to FCC without your knowledge or a refund of your payment?

When my 2020 Africa cruise got cancelled I got FCC, a partial refund and the bonus 25% FCC but on top of that I got a bonus 20% off which I used on a future cruise to have it cancelled 2 months ago So now I got all my money back as a FCC and a one time use 10%. I also want my 20% coupon back as they cancelled on me again.
prov2727 Posted August 30, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted August 30, 2022 Just to update on this situation. Norwegian has restored a portion of the FCC (though they are now being sure to call it a one-time use certificate). While there was definitely some inventive accounting going on there (if they did what they now say that they did, they owe me $86 cash which I doubt that I will ever see), I am satisfied enough with their response to continue with my plans to cruise with them again in January. The 100% refund and 100% FCC was very generous. I was more than happy with that. It was when they changed the definition of FCC and applied it to a cruise I had already paid for without letting me know and then telling me that I had no credit left when I had used only a third of it (and that unknowingly!) that made me feel cheated. I'm glad you were able to come to a resolution that mostly resolved your issues. I'm sorry NCL likes to rob cruisers...but, like you, I continue to book NCL cruises. They know what they're doing.
