Itinerary changes Grand Africa 2022 on Zaandam

I noticed that the updated itinerary for the Oct.10 Zaandam cruise around Africa does not stop in the Seychelles at all now. Does anyone know why? Is there civil unrest or something? I realize that HAL can do anything they want but one would think that the Seychelles would would be a prime stop.

as I post, that doesn’t show anything special that looks alarming. My completely fact-free wild guess would be it has something to do with port access fees or procedures, or availability of tours from their excursion providers. If not that, maybe sunspots? 🙂

I am on this cruise. After the change, I did brief investigation. Seychelles has  not allowed ships with over 700/800/900 passengers all year. Don’t know when HAL “knew” this. Sorry to miss it, but have been there several times before.

I am also on the 2022 Grand Africa Voyage.  Although many passengers have had to adjust their plans, I personally feel that we have ended up with a better itinerary.
