Rare steamboats Posted July 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2023 So it looks like the AIDAaura is becoming the Lara for Miray Cruises / Life At Sea Cruises for the 3 year world cruise. Her last cruise is ending Sep 21st in Bremerhaven. And the new Lara is supposed to be going into the dry dock at Bremerhaven. steamboats

Rare steamboats Posted July 6, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2023 Looking at the cabin photos I don´t think they have time enough to refurb the ship between Sep 22nd and Oct 31st. The cabins are completely different to those of AIDA. steamboats
Rare steamboats Posted October 15, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2023 According to German local newspapers the sale has not been completed. The name parts AIDA were removed from the funnel and the hull. The ship never went into dry dock. It´s still moored in Bremerhaven. The hand over was delayed and the last date (on Friday Oct 13th) has been cancelled too. Rumors are that Miray has some problems with the financing. steamboats

Rare steamboats Posted November 16, 2023 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2023 As the sale to Miray was never closed another player came up and today Celestyal Cruises confirmed the purchase of the AIDAaura which will become the Celestyal Discovery next year after a major refurbishment over the winter. So Miray still has no ship for the world cruise of Life at Sea Cruises. The ship is already handed over and the flag has been changed to Malta. steamboats
