Chocolate Excursion

Been to Cozumel a number of times & looking for something different & easy this time.

Looking at the ship excursion "Chocolate Seaside Workshop, Tasting and Wine Pairing".  Has anyone done this excursion or something similar?  Feedback?

We had a private driver (https://blackhattours.com/) taking us around all day during our port stop at Cozumel.  When we asked about chocolates he took us to https://chocolateskaokao.com/.  We opted for the full tour (~$25pp) instead of just the tasting and were so glad we did.  We learned (and tasted) so much and at the end got to make our own chocolate to take home.   Highly recommended!

I believe this is at Stingray Beach. We haven’t done it but seen good reviews on TA. Let us know how it goes if you do this. I am not sure whose chocolate they use.

 

We have also done Kaokao. This is further away from the ports and although interesting it focuses just on making the chocolate.

Just back from Cozumel & did the "Chocolate Seaside Workshop, Tasting and Wine Pairing" excursion.  Highly recommend--was one of the best experiences we've had on numerous Caribbean cruises.  It's at Stingray Beach in an air conditioned pavilion with clean restrooms.  You learn the 500 year fascinating history of chocolate.  You get to grind the beans & make your own chocolate (not just a demonstration) to take home, followed by a tasting of nine kinds of locally made chocolate with wine.  The presenter was very knowledgeable & funny.  An great alternative for adults looking to do something different!
