Is the Mississippi river OK ? We are doing  New Orleans / St. Paul, July 19- August 5.2023.Any comments ?

We are doing New Orleans to Memphis in June and have been wondering about the water levels as well. Our hope is the snow melt and spring showers will help.

Would love to do this cruise. Years ago we did a day trip from New Orleans and at one stop for a talk at a battle site by one of your lovely wardens we all stood in a semi circle to listen. It just happened that we (Brits) were at one end and another couple also Brits were at the other (not that we knew each other, at the time) at the other when our guide got to the bit were the Brits for once got the upper hand the guy at the other end and my DH both said ‘we’ve got you surrounded’. Okay not original but some there were quite worried. 
It’s an ongoing joke here that if all else fails we will just go and retake the colonies. (In our dreams)

We've got plenty of snow up here in Minnesota to feed it.

It sounds like we are on this cruise at the same time.  We are doing the 3-day extension in New Orleans starting 7/18 then embarking on 7/22 at Baton Rouge.  Then all the way to Red Wing and disembarking 8/5 bussing to St Paul.  Does this sound like your cruise?

After 30+ cruises,including a couple in recent years on Viking, the reviews look more like a Carnival cruise without the water slides.

We're looking elsewhere, unless there is a VAST IMPROVEMENT on our scheduled Viking cruise.
