Rental Car or Shuttle - Port Canaveral-> MCO

Sailing on the Mardi Gras at the end of March.  We are flying in two days early, renting a car from National at MCO and returning at the port.  On the way back, I currently have a Budget car reserved, but am trying to decide if it would just be easier to take the Carnival shuttle back to MCO (It would only be about $25 more).  My flight leaves at 3:35 so my original thinking was that if I rented a car then we could get lunch somewhere in Orlando before heading to the airport, so we didn't have to wait there all day.

 

It's been several years since I've been to PC and IIRC picking up the rental car for the trip back was a long process.  I also think we had a later flight.  Any suggestions?

IMO, rent the car and take your time.  The last time we did this in PC, it really didn't take long at all to pick up the car.  As long as you don't rush, you won't feel rushed 🙂

With a later flight the rental back to Orlando after the cruise makes sense.  Otherwise, you are sitting at the airport for hours before our flight.
