St. Thomas questions

Sailing to St. Thomas on Symphony next week. 2 families with kids ranging in age from 8-18. How far away are Coki and Magen's Bay by taxi from the pier? Its been awhile since I've been there. If we decide to stick close to pier is there still that cable car ride right near the shopping area by the pier? Thought the kids might enjoy that. Any other easy ideas with a bunch of kids.Thank you in advance.

Yes, Skyride is still there, and there are now 2 other kiddie attractions steps from the Skyride: the Pirate Museum and the Children's Museum.

 

Symphony of the Seas should dock at Crown Bay which is on the other side of town from the dock closest to the Skyride. Emerald Beach is very close to the Royal Caribbean Crown Bay dock, and has chairs, bathrooms, and food and drink. Closer than Magens or Coki but not much snorkeling.

Oh wow I didn't realize there was more than one place to dock in St. Thomas!

How far is Emerald Beach by taxi, and how much does the ride cost? I see that it is a resort...do you need a day pass?

No day pass needed, but pool is for guests only. They rent chairs. Taxi is maybe 10 minutes away, and I think fare is $6 per person each way.

Is it a swimmable  beach for kids?

It is usually pretty calm, but maybe not as calm as Magens. The entry to the water near the resort isn't as flat as Magens, but it's flatter if you walk to the right down the beach.
