Xl sea terrace glass balcony or metal?

We decided to finally put a virgin voyage cruise on hold, and will put down deposit tomorrow, and we are absolutely thrilled. My question is this, we can see our cabin number and cannot figure out if it’s a glass balcony or metal? It’s a forward Xl sea terrace. Does anyone know if they are glass or metal?

If you know your cabin number you can check, but as a rule of thumb the closer the XL is to the start of the line from the middle of the ship, the more likely you are for glass AND a hammock. Not all XL are equal, and some are even more narrow than a standard cabin if you get the unlucky XL by the ships bridge.

• The XL bathroom is nice, but I wouldn't want to give up the hammock for one.  If you. call VV (as opposed to doing everything on line) or work thru a TA, they can help you select your specific cabin number rather than accept a computer assigned one.  You can get a TA involved now or wait up to a week to transfer your booking to one....there is a whole thread on advantages to using an agent. You were smart to lock in the rate yesterday as fares went up effective today. (the "discount" went from 55% to 50% for the second passenger)

Where is the sweet spot for XL's? Would it be deck 8 (except above the Manor) for the larger balcony? Are the three person rooms always the larger variant?
