Royal Up Winning Bids - How Many Cabin Categories Higher Did You Win?

In an effort to see patterns in the Royal Up process, I'm curious how many categories higher did your successful bid get you?

2 Category upgrade - went from Obstructed Balcony to Spacious Balcony on Anthem

Same for us. But I think the ship has a lot to do with it. We were on Jewel, possibly fewer people sailing on an older ship. Or older passengers who don't do RoyalUP bids. Everything is very subjective.

Well, the voting may be funky because people may think differently about “categories.”

I immediately voted 1 category as on my last RoyalUp win I went from an ocean view cabin to a balcony. Reading your post, perhaps you’d have called that a two category upgrade as there was a larger oceanview cabin category🥱.

Bid and won just one time.  Went from Ocean View Balcony to Owner's Suite.  4 night sold out cruise on Independence during Spring Break.  Received notification more than 3 weeks in advance.

Yeah, I thought about that too. They way I look at it was I could put in a bid for a 2 different balcony categories above what I originally had - so 2 categories.

I do understand your point of view.  I simply had a different, immediate word in the poll.  
 

Your example is interesting to me.  My next cruise booking is a gty balcony on Odyssey.  Per barcode trick, we got an 2E obstructed balcony.  RoyalUp’s lowest offer the extended balcony.  So, you and I started from same place (obstructed balcony, though mine is gty), but your win would be 2 categories and if I hypothetically won it would be one category.  (It won’t happen…we like our partly shaded deck 7 porthole balcony enough that we won’t risk getting an extended balcony near the smoking area,)

Just received confirmation of a Royal Up.

Have gone from an interior to an unobstructed balcony for minimum bid of $20 each.

Very happy, as wasn't really bothered which is why I tried the minimum.
