Uber from LAX right to Long Beach...

Stay at one of these:  Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric at the Pike, Renaissance, Westin, Maya Doubletree, Residence Inn Downtown, Hilton.

First four are in the prime tourist area of Downtown, very near LOTS of restaurants, shops and attractions...Maya DT and Residence Inn are across the bridge, VERY close to Carnival Pier and Queen Mary...Hilton is near the prime area, a little off to the West...

We have booked a Hilton curio in Redondo Beach.  We looked at the hilton options listed above and decided on the curio.  The closest hilton brand closest to the port was over $900 with no option to book with points.  I've been researching things to do/see near there and it seems the pier is only .5 mile walk.

The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach is April 14-16, 2023. That is about the only way a Hilton in Long Beach could be $900 a night.

If people are looking for a hotel in Long Beach, April 13-15, in that rare instance, I'd stay at LAX and get a cab VERY early to the Long Beach Terminal for the April 14 (Radiance) and April 15 (Panorama) cruises.

We are flying out of Long Beach on April 15th flight is not until 4 PM, any idea if this will have an impact on getting there from the pier in San Pedro?

Long Beach is a BIG city...half a million in population, covering 52 square miles.  The Grand Prix is in Downtown--near the harbor, southwest corner of the city.  LGB Airport is in the extreme north of the city.  The World Cruise Center is in San Pedro, 6-8 miles across the very large harbor.  The drive from San Pedro to LGB Airport, going through Downtown Long Beach is about 15 miles...but, during the race (and, really, most ANY time or date), a smart taxi driver or Uber/Lyft driver will avoid Long Beach almost entirely and go 110 North to the 405 South...adds about 4 miles...but not necesserily much more drive time since it's all major freeways.  You'll bypass the race area and probably won't have much in the way of extra traffic...You have VERY LITTLE to worry about with a 4:00 pm flight.

We are staying at the Westin pre cruise and I am hoping to Uber there and drop off our bags for a few hours before heading to the airport on our return.  Stayed at the Hyatt Regency last year but literally Ubered from the airport to the hotel and then to the cruise terminal in the morning so not familiar with the area at all.

If necessary we could always choose a hotel closer to the airport.

If you mean the Westin in DTLB, that is a VERY BAD idea. The Westin is in the thick of it.

Depending on how late/long of a flight you have we like the Hilton LAX.  We stay there if we have an early flight (avoid traffic) or a late arriving flight and don't want to drive the three hours home.  If it's true the LB Grand Prix is in town then I would certainly stay by the airport and then UBER to the port in the AM.
