luvscruzin Posted May 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2004 Is there any way that passengers can be substituted after final payment has already been made? Travel insurance has been purchased, but we don't want to cancel the cruise, only possibly substitute a passenger. There's a slim possibility that one in our party won't be able to go due to severe back problems. The rest could go, and we'd like to just get someone to take the place of the one who can't go, if that's possible. We're trying to figure out what options might be available (if any) in case passenger couldn't travel. Does anyone know the answer or can tell me how to find out? 7/10/04 Carnival Triumph Carnival Holiday 6/94 Seabreeze 7/96 (now sunken!) hdawson Posted May 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2004 Great question for your travel agent. They could tell you and how much it costs for new documents.
imsulin Posted May 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2004 Yes - Carnival will allow you to change a passenger's name before sailing. I think the fee is $50.00 if the documents have already been issued. If you're not cruising until July 10, your documents won't be issued until about 3 weeks before cruising. You might have to pay this fee anyway, since final payment has already been made. Have your TA contact Carnival, and you're under a time constraint. Just keep in mind that Carnival has to submit its manifest to Immigration 72 hours prior to sailing, so the sooner you can decide whether the bad-back pasenger can or can't go, the better. If you booked directly through Carnival, call your PVP.
