ttrmom Posted July 1, 2023 #51 Share Posted July 1, 2023 if there a spot for my husband to drop me and luggage off and then go park? Or is it easiest if we park first?

I haven't been there yet, but I found a video on YouTube that shows the terminal and how it works (previous page). When you drive in, there's a spot where you drop the luggage and then you go and park. You could just get out when you drop the luggage while your husband parks. Brighton Line Posted July 3, 2023 #53 Share Posted July 3, 2023 Drop bags, then park. Everything is close unless you really have issues walking, you probably walk further from one end of the ship to the other than from parking to the terminal entrance. Here is a 30-second video: 1

I think we will also drive to the terminal from Toms River. Let me know if you did drive yourself and if you have any tips for us. We are embarking on June 29. Thanks! legalangel Posted May 30 #55 Share Posted May 30 Parking worked out well when you return - be sure to get someone to help with luggage (it is worth the tip money)!

We drove in from Massachusetts. It was pretty easy on a Sunday morning with minimal traffic. We used Waze navigation which was a big help with the multiple turns after you get off the high way to get into the port. There are also flag men directing traffic when you are almost there. We followed signs for parking, but before we parked we were directed to a spot to pull in to drop off our bags. We arrived about 9:30 am and there were plenty of spaces. It was very convenient to park right in front of the ship. When we disembarked we just dragged our bags back to the car. We were on board the ship about 11:20. We had 10:00 check in time. They seemed pretty organized about calling the boarding numbers.
BostonBoy2 Posted August 13 #57 Share Posted August 13 I'm curious about this as well. We are boarding the Queen Mary 2 to London on Aug. 23, 2024 (next week), and we are planning to take the Acela from Boston the morning before. However, the train has had at least two breakages this summer, and I'm wondering what we'd do if that happens on the Aug. 22. My thought is that we'd just drive down to Brooklyn (five hr drive), park at the terminal and board. We'd have to eat the cost of parking, and after we return to Boston (by air) in Sept., I'd just take the train down to NYC, pick up the car and drive it home. Does this sound reasonable? thanks in advance! BostonBoy

Does this sound reasonable? I would contact the parking operator, ProPark, as the parking lot may only be open when ships are calling. For inquiries regarding Brooklyn Cruise Terminal parking, email Jason.Rubino@propark.com or call 646 299 4670.
BostonBoy2 Posted August 14 #59 Share Posted August 14 Thank you - we would be meeting/board a QM2 departure, so if we had to drive down that shouldn't be a problem. Thanks again.
