Sea Cinditions, Whittier to Glacier Bay

We have done two Alaska cruises in the past, both r/t Vancouver. In June we are sailing Anchorage to Vancouver on the Noordam. My wife is concerned about sea conditions between Whittier and Glacier Bay. Can anyone offer what they experienced on that leg?

Seas can be rough anytime, anywhere, and are not predictable. That run is usually done at night, but is in the open ocean for awhile, so anything can happen.

Crossing the Gulf is likelier to be bumpier than sailing closer to land on a round trip, especially a round trip out of Vancouver. You will be at sea. Should a storm be ahead of you, then expect the seas to still have some roughness to it. I always fee the difference when I cross the Gulf. Not always bad, but different from the smoother ride of the Inside Passage.

I agree with the previous comments. On our cruise last September the ship was rocking noticeably, but as they said, you never know. My wife gets motion sickness easily, but she was wearing an ear patch and had no issues.
