Check-in then explore Southampton? Possible?

Recommended Posts

As there is talk there is no alcohol being served on NCL in port until they sail would it be possible to check-in and leave our luggage then head back to central city to explore, have lunch, cocktails etc before all-aboard? We plan on taking a train from London the morning of the sailing then cab to the ship.

In theory, yes.

It's only a ten minute walk from the cruise terminal to the large West Quay mall and the city wall & landmark Bargate are just 5 minutes beyond.

Or in a slightly different direction, thro the city wall's West Gate to the Tudor House & Gardens.

Or along the waterfront to the Dancing Man micro-brewery and pub, housed in the 13th Century stone Wool Store

But all aboard is likely to be 90 minutes or more before departure, so you'll not have much time after dropping your bags.

Perhaps grab a cab at the cruise terminal (there'll be plenty dropping off by the terminal entrance or bag drop) for a quick tour of  the city's few iconic sights mebbe finishing at the Dancing Man or the Duke of Wellington on Bugle Street

Have vague fluid ideas about where to go & what to do, and adjust to suit the that time you have
