Aft Balcony Deck 2

I booked one of those deck 2 aft cabins on Venezia a couple of days ago for a late 2024 cruise. I couldn't find a new Venezia video review of those particular cabins, but I did find video reviews of the same on Horizon by googling the corresponding cabin number taken from the deck plans. If you haven't already seen these, video for all three different layouts on those aft deck 2 cabins came up when searched. Other than the decor, these look to be the same cabin configurations...

We stayed in 2499 on the June 15th sailing of the Venezia. The cabin was nice and the air conditioner worked well. There were two outlets and multiple USB plugs. The balcony was a good size with two chairs and a table.  There doesn't seem to be quite as much storage space as on other ships, but it was adequate.  Please let me know if you have any specific questions I may be able to answer.

I was wondering about noise/vibration and any spray bothering you on the balcony.  I'd imagine you'd have mentioned any issues such as these, so it sounds like no problems with any of that.

From the deck plan it appears that these balconies are not bigger than a standard balcony, even though Carnival advertises them as "extended".  Any thoughts on that?

What did you think of being in an aft balcony so close to the water?

Normally we get balconies higher up, around deck 7 or so.  We've been in a cove balcony on deck 2 on Magic once and it was ok, didn't love it and didn't hate it.

There wasn't a lot of vibration at all.  After sailing on an aft balcony on the Pride where it vibrated constantly, this was really nice.  There was some rattling from the hangers in the closet and things like that, but nothing bad.  The balcony doesn't look directly over the water.  There is a large white area that is directly beyond the railing so you couldn't look down to see the water, if this makes any sense.  The balcony did seem a little larger than a normal balcony, more deep, but not huge.  There was a window next to the door as well. It was a very comfortable balcony where the two chairs were not on top of each other and room to walk around a little bit.  The balcony didn't get much spray, perhaps from the large overhang past the balcony blocking the spray.

We would definitely book this room again. The sound from the wake was relaxing.  We felt like our balcony had more privacy from the neighboring balconies.  There is no protection overhead in 2499 on the balcony though.  When it rained one evening our balcony wasn't usable at all.

We were debating between this cabin and one on Deck 10. We were extremely happy with this room because it got us away from the crowds for a bit.  The elevators on Deck 10 always seemed to have a crowd and 2499 was a little out of the way and quieter.

Thanks for the input.  I went ahead and booked the aft balcony on deck 2.  I honestly would have preferred a higher deck, but the only other aft balcony cabins available are reserved for 3 or more guests..... I hate how Carnival does that.

But now I'm wondering if I screwed up, that cruise is going to be the week of President's Day.  As I understand it many school districts are out for that entire week.

We usually cruise the week of President's Day out of Baltimore.  There are a lot of folks from New York that week as the schools are closed.  It's almost like cruising in summer with the number of kids.
