Venice port

Why some cruise lines (in my case NCL) still lists Venice as a cruise port. We all know Venice no longer allows large cruises.

They also list Trieste as the embarkation/disembarkation port.

Any idea which port will be used for the Venice port? An overnight in Trieste?

Trying to figure out the logistics in order to visit Venice.

NCL customer service wasn't too informative about my concern.

Just suggested an independent private tour, which will be fine with me.

Any comments, ideas or suggestions.

Thanks, Doris.

I'm pretty sure that they tender when it's a port day, it should say that on your itinerary.

Something I read indicated that the tender drops you off at Piazza San Marco, which would be great if it's true.

If you haven’t seen this thread over on the NCL forum, you might read it.  There are all sorts of things that have been done by NCL related to Venice lately.  I have no idea what will happen to your cruise, but as one of the posts in that thread says, I would be prepared with multiple plans in case you tender into Venice, or dock in Trieste or dock in Ravenna.  Things seem very fluid at this point.
