Boarding later even though you have an early boarding slot

Just curious if you’re able to get one of the early boarding slots (10:30) but you end up not arriving until noon or one are you able to walk past the line or do you lose your place and now need to lineup with everyone else who have the late boarding slots.

I’ve been late due to traffic driving to port and was able to board as soon as I got to port.
