Just in from the "Glory" Eastern!!!!!

The shuttle was 5.00 per person..cab ride back was around 12.00 for all four of us..so I would do taxi if I was doing it all over again. It seemed like maybe an 8 minute ride not too far at all. Got ripped off by doing shuttle didnt even think of taking a taxi but we do learn and pass it on thanks for asking and have a great cruise!!

Base5 ...,The formal nights were Sunday and Thursday and also a elegant formal on friday..pretty much the whole week folks were dressed up.

Umm..about Sapphire Beach we drove there to stop and take pictures and I didn't notice any jet skis..Julie did you see any?? It was a beautiful beach too!!

zonemasconi....thanks for sharing my joy that we all got on board. I'm going to have my husband get a passport this month! I am so anxious to cruise again! I can't wait! We have to use my husband's summer school money to pay off this cruise, and then we will be able to line up second cruise. I would like to do the Western Carribean next. We loved going with family, so will try to go with Cyt and other inlaws...or my family on next cruise. That is the best way for us to travel! My "only" loves hanging out with his cousins. They spoiled him to death!!!!

 

Bases 5 - we did not try the pay dinner. The formals were when cyt said....and so much fun! Have a great cruise!!!!

 

JKD.....ya know...I did not see any jet ski rentals at Sapphire Beach. That's not to say they didn't have any, I just didn't see them. We had some beautiful snorkeling and took an underwater camera. It was a great day! Have a great cruise!

Ok I am going to post it here..since yur thread is getting all the action..lol.

 

Ok well I hit the points food, crew, ship etc. now I have to say this was a great cruise experience..the last one we were on was cut short so I was glad things lasted for the whole 7 days. If you plan on cruising and are considering the Glory go now..while this amazing crew is still onboard!! I can't say enough as to how well they were..just amazing. I also have to say they had quick room service..had it in matter of 10 minutes everynight when I had to have some of their Tuna salad sanwiches, Potato Salad, Open face Shrimp Salad sandwich on Muffin and there BLT's..Finally got some that I could chew..they were all great. Also I wanted to mention the lay out of the ship..we had bottom floor of Platnum Dinig room and had to go thru deck 5 past casino towards back of ship down 2 flights..ppl don't think your gonna catch elevator to do this we had to walk each time. And same as on the way out of dining room except one night I was lucky enough to catch elevator up to deck 8 and head to room. You will definitely walk your food off after eating back there..lol..I know I did our cabin was way at the front. One other thing there is no smoking along the Promenade or in the lobby and part of the casino bar closet to the promenade walk was non smoking as well and also the pool and bar area at back of ship where you get pizza was non smoking as well..this was totally the opposite of the Conquest the Glory's sister ship when we went on. The Promenade area was really a great place to get folks together and play games..i seen some playing the game sorry, Gin, and some were trying to get a game of spades on.. All in all I loved the ship it was just gorgeous except they might have made one mistake with the flooring..they have all the colors running tru out the ship made up of square glass tiles and I did see alot of those broken..so be sure you where your shoes at all times and kids as well.

Ok now let me get onto one of our stops..we rented van and went to Orient Beach..this place is awesome..the better snorkeling if any is on the nude side after you cross the optional side. There is jet skis to rent as well as Parasailing in which Julie and the kids and her Brother all went and did..they all had a blast.if you haven't tried it do so. Me well I chickened out I am afraid of falling and there is no way ya gonna get to do that!! Julie mentioned the dining places and trust me..go to Baywatch..it is well worth the money!! I really enjoyed there Onion rings.oh and if you like regular mustard please ask before you squirt..i didn't and ended up having grey poupon on my burger..I don't like that mustard but only on hot dogs. Just lil heads up on that. As warned by Julie You will see naked ppl..we had some sit right down beside us I thought I was gonna fall out cause my son was roght next to me but he didn't even seem like he seen em..don't know how. Also there is a great photo opportunity on Orient Beach Julie had the kids go out on the rocks right after the enter Nude side of beach sign. gonna be awesome photos!!

Now you can also do some shopping when you get back right at the pier there is a store there where you will get a card in yur stateroom to fill out and get a free bracelet..fill it out and take it to them to get it. I didn't know until we were back on the ship and I was straightening up. Its something called Jewlery exchange something like that. They also have some neat wooden snakes you can purchase at some of the tent venders there would be great gift for kids..I seen one and thought it was real..the motions were just amazing and it was made from wood dont know how they did it. Also while I am on that..at St. Thomas when you are going back into the building to get back on the ship there will be some ppl selling these walking Turtles made out of Cocnuts..they were so cute..I still haven't figured out how they did that one either.

 

Well I guess I am going to end this review but if you have any questions please fell free to ask Julie can answer and I will to. I could keep on but my fingers are going to fall off and I need them to pull the handles and push buttons on my slots in Vegas..lol!! You can't go wrong if you cruise on the Glory!!! Make it soon!!

Oh one other thing if you plan on visiting Trunk Bay and need taxi when you get off ask for Franklin..he will take you by all the beaches so you not only get to see one you see them all on your drive to the ferry..great photo opps!!

Great review Cyt!!!!! I bought Alexander one of those wooden snakes in St. Maarten...he LOVES it! And only $5. St. Thomas and St. Maarten are great places to buy t-shirts....they are 3 for $10 at most places...I bought one at each island! I didn't go shopping for high-end jewelry...but loved the larimar (blue stone) and will buy some of that next time (when I have more money).

 

On the ship, we took the stairs most of the time. I'm training to run up the Empire State Building again in February with my 93-year-old grandpa (yearly tradition).

 

Forgot to mention...one of my favorite things on the cruise was ordering a plate of brownies and cookies at night. My little boy and I would go sit outside, nosh on snacks and talk about our day. It was the sweetest and most wonderful time of the day.

 

Another thing...the pillows are REALLY fluffy, LOL! I am used to my own pillows, so next time I'll bring my own worn, flat pillows. When you start complaining about the pillows being too fluffy, you realize you really have nothing to complain about!

 

Oh, my niece got the free bracelet from the card she got on the ship. It was cute and definately good for free!!!!

Julie me and My Alexander order those Brownies and cookies too..but of course he ate them all up while I munched on my desserts I carried form the dining room everynight..lol!! I have to agree their pillows were fluffy I laid mine long ways and stuck head in between them was much better that way. I did see folks bringing their own onboard they must have known ahead of time to do so. Oh and about that run up the empire state building..I wish we could be there..that is one awesome thing your Granddad is doing and for you to share that with him well its priceless!! We love ya and Talk to ya when we get back!
