YaYaCruiser Posted July 27, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2023 We are traveling on NCL Star Oct. 23; arriving in London on Oct.21. When we started this booking process, we found Heathrow Express tickets for 5 euros into London Paddington, but can't find that rate now. Are we overlooking something? Any advice on the best way to travel from Heathrow to Paddington Station (or closer to our hotel, Ibis Earl's Court) would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance! gumshoe958 Posted July 27, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2023 Heathrow Express sells advance tickets at a variety of different prices starting at £5.50, but the cheapest fares are strictly limited and once they sell out the price goes up to the next level (£7.50), then the next and so on. So it looks like you missed out on the cheapest tickets. But the easiest route from Heathrow to your hotel would actually be the Piccadilly line tube, which runs direct to Earl’s Court every 5-10 minutes. Your hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the station. The fare is £3.40 at peak times Mon-Fri, or £2.10 at all other times if you use a contactless payment card, Apple/Google Pay or an Oyster card. A paper ticket is £6.70. 1
Island2Dweller Posted July 27, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2023 If your hotel is in Earls Court, you absolutely don't want any train to Paddington. That's nowhere near your hotel! As mentioned above, Piccadilly line is frequent and cheap. Do not attempt to buy any paper ticket, used bank card or phone/smart watch to open the platform barrier. (Paper tickets are priced to be painfully expensive to discourage use - the transport authories want to nudge you to electronic payment)

Second, Paddington is not near your hotel.

YaYaCruiser Posted July 29, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted July 29, 2023 Geez, Langoustine, aren't you a ray of sunshine! LOL Who peed in your Post Toasties? Please forgive me as I misspoke about euro/pounds. And I'm fully aware that Paddington isn't near our hotel; we're just examining options using HE and connecting with the underground. Perhaps you could make some gracious and polite recommendations?

Meander Ingwa Posted July 29, 2023 #9 Share Posted July 29, 2023 @YaYaCruiser if you are an adventurous eater, there are a lot of interesting places around the station neighborhood
