Upsell offers for Ovation in Carribean

Hope I am using correct wording as first time poster - have read some previous posts on this topic.

 

We are booked on an OB fare for first Seabourn cruise. Has anyone recently received any upsell or paid upgrade offers for the Ovation in December 23 or January 24?

 

Would love to do this if available

Typically, those types of upgrade offers come much closer to the date of sailing. (I may be wrong, but I think they generally go to people with booked suites rather than those with OB bookings.)

Thanks for the response. My cruise is early December.

The TA never mentioned that OB bookings are not offered paid upgrades / upsell offers and I hadn’t noticed that on reading other posts.

As I said, I'm not sure about that.

 

If you booked your cruise expecting an upgrade offer, that was the real disservice by your TA. Upgrades are offered, but they're not plentiful and pretty random. If you really want a higher category, it's best to book it; the odds of getting an upgrade offer on any particular sailing are pretty low.

My wife has an upcoming girls trip I believe on Ovation that departs 11/5. She received her first email re upgrades on 9/20 and did not upgrade. Then she got another email on 10/20 at further reduced rates (almost half off the first email) and so upgraded to Wintergarden. 

 

We booked on Venture for Thanksgiving week to Antarctica about 30 days out from sailing and within days received an upgrade email with very good pricing. Once again we upgraded to Wintergarden, as we're paying somewhere between 25-30% of list price. 

 

Don't see why OB bookings would be different, just think you've got to wait to get closer in.

Holiday Cruises are usually pretty popular so I would be surprised if you received an upgrade offer on your December 23 cruise.

I think I confused people here - I meant December 2023 - not a holiday cruise 😀

Early December cruises can be less heavily booked in the Caribbean so that may help.
