Day Pass Marriott Question

we are going to be cruising to Curacao in May. 

 

trying to decide. do we book resort for a day? or contact hotel directly and take a taxi. 

which do you recommend? 

 

if we book through resort for a day, is there a chance we want to go back to the boat early? if so, would we have to take a taxi?

we booked directly with Marriott through the concierge. They sent a taxi and told us what time to meet it and 3 was the return time. Lovely place not cheap bring water shoes.
