Sixthman cruises and "Butler & Concierge Service"

Recommended Posts

Hey all. I'm slated to sail on a Sixthman-charter cruise and we splurged on a swanky Owner's Suite. It seems like the Butler and Concierge services are a subset of what NCL normally offers? I'm hoping that our expectations could be set realistically. e.g. will we get simplified boarding and disembarkation? I remember last year's disembarkation was a line that ran nearly the entire length of the ship. Things like the escorts, sodas and free bottle of alcohol in the room, mobile phone, and the nightly treats, are missing from Sixthman's list of services.

Breakfast and lunch is listed as being available to us in Cagney's. Will the food be much different than the MDR? i.e. is it mostly a quieter venue with better service?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I know nothing about Sixthman Charter cruises.

Sounds like you're on one of the somewhat older ships that lack a Haven restaurant.  In those ships, breakfast and lunch are served in Cagney's or Moderno. I wouldn't say the food quality is mind blowing, it is a good 1-2 steps better than the main dining room, and yes -- quieter, better service.

Thanks, and yes, no Haven restaurant. The charters get the older ships in the off-season.

typically, the "talent" on sixthman cruises gets the use of the suites and/or haven complex, so i'm surprised you were able to book the owner's suite. if you're on a music or broadway cruise or whatnot, it is quite possible you'll have talent/celebrities staying nearby and sharing your dining venues.

as for the food... i sailed the haven on the gem a couple of years ago and the breakfast at moderno and lunch at cagney's was great... every bit the equal of the haven restaurant on other ships. same menu, same service.

We had a 2bdrm family penthouse suite on the Jewel for the 2022 KissKruise.

Had a butler, but service was scaled back from what we’d normally have gotten.  Wasn’t a problem, since we were so busy we really didn’t notice a lack.  Concierge had a desk in Moderno at breakfast time.  Lunch was in Cagney’s.  Le Bistro was closed entirely, and was where the talent & such ate so you won’t share dining with them unless they choose to go elsewhere.  Haven courtyard was closed, and was where the main talent lived.  Smaller bands were scattered around the ship in regular cabins, as far as we could tell.  Suites that were available for general booking were only the suites outside the Haven complex, and did not include Haven access even if they normally would have.

The Sixthman website for your cruise will have a section on the ship and suites, venues, etc.  Read all of that info, and look at the deck plans there.  They edit out anything that isn’t available, and describe the services/venues that are open and/or included with your cabin choice.  It does NOT match info on the main NCL site, and it can vary from charter to charter, so ignore any previous experiences and info for that ship and go with what’s on the Sixthman website only.
