Aaron3 Posted March 11 #1 Share Posted March 11 We’re currently booked onto a cruise shorex to the distillery and beach (doesn’t say which but I’m assuming great anse) Tour is 3.45hours (9.45-1.30), we’re in port 9.30-4.30. We have 2 young children (2 and 5) hence shorex on a coach usually easier, but feels like we may be leaving a lot of port time with little else to do other than port shopping. any ideas how much and easy with children it’s be to taxi to the distillery, do the tour, taxi to beach (anse or other ) and back to port

The main reason for us booking shorex if because of the infant but if it’s pretty easy with taxi sounds better so we can stay at the beach longer. I saw about la plywood but it looked further from the distillery than anse, if it’s similar sounds nicer to be away from the masses

Plywood is rustic, ethnic and shabby chic, but the people are genuine and will respect one and appreciate one’s business. No Babylon as of Grand Anse Take in the views. Stunning. Know you’re with little ones, but one must try (once) the gin shot with a beer chaser. Either from a glass or direct from the gun. Don’t forget the disposable Ponchos. If liquid sunshine appears, then Plywood is a nice place to shelter Food is good and generous. Taxis available back to ship, but if not immediate, then Plywood would call a known, local and reliable one for the drive back to port. Enjoy…. PORT ROYAL Posted April 2 #7 Share Posted April 2 Plywood update 27 minutes ago, negn said: We originally asked to go to La Plywood. Taxi dropped us off right next door at kalingo. We rented chairs. No need for umbrella as plenty of trees. We purchased a couple of drinks while there. A lot cheaper than all inclusive. Taxi was $16 each way. We arranged for our driver to pick us up also. BTW, looking over at La Playa it looked pretty rundown Thank you so much for this valuable update…. Will now make others aware of the poor state of Plywood, so they make the right and informed choice.
