Rainbow3fe Posted May 2 #1  Share Posted May 2 Hi,   We are only going to visit one museum on our excursion in Athens. We would like advice in deciding between The Acropolis Museum OR The Archeological Museum. I would appreciate any input. Thanks đ

You don't need to see it all, but can choose which of the various halls to visit depending on your interests.  We spent almost entire day in there on our first visit,(there is a cafe) less on our second a few years later. By contrast we were in and out of the Acropolis Museum in around an hour. Maybe just us as we felt it didn't meet our expectations, and we were a little disappointed , but visiting the Archaeological Museum first may have influenced our opinions.  Having said that, others who have visited both may have a preference for the Acropolis Museum. TouchstoneFeste Posted May 2 #3 Â Share Posted May 2 The Archeological Museum is probably the best bet since it has a much broader collection (and yes, you could spend days there). The Acropolis Museum is well worth it, though: beautifully designed but single purpose. The top floor is a walk around of the top of the Parthenon itself. It's quite an experience, we thought. 1
