Grandiosa to sail out of Port Canaveral

Itineraries not yet listed on the MSC US website, but will probably be posted within a week or two? MSC is presumably getting close to locking in their fleet deployments for all their ships for December 2025 and onward.

"Bringing a second ship to Port Canaveral will give MSC Cruises’ guests a much wider selection of cruises. MSC Grandiosa will offer alternating 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. Meanwhile, MSC Seashore will sail 3- and 4-night cruises to Nassau and Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the line’s private island in The Bahamas."

This is the only disappointing aspect IMO. Presumably will be the same handful of ports that we already see on 7-day Orlando and Miami itineraries. It would be great if MSC had the occasional 8- or 10-night sailing from Orlando or Miami on their newer vessel that went somewhere fresh.

Although disappointing, it is understandable from an economic standpoint. If the newest ships had the best itineraries, the older ships with the less desirable itineraries wouldn't sell.

I would like to do a longer cruise that went further south on a brand new ship but I'd rather do "new ship/mediocre itinerary" instead of "older and smaller ship/better itinerary".

...first world problems, I know.

I am really looking forward to this as Meraviglia is definitely my favorite of the ships I have sailed so far. I can only imagine that Grandiosa is even better. I already looked and they do have my favorite hangout on Grandiosa, same as Mera. The Horizon Bar on deck 18 aft. 😃

The Sky Lounge on Deck 18, for us it was a great example of the different experiences one could get on a cruise. By the pool the people were jumping up on a party/dance, on the Sky Lounge, an adults only space with a Jazz Trio and drinks relaxing and watching from a couch, separated only by a glass...

The Masters of the Sea Pub was another, if it wasn't for the sea movement one could very much think it went outside the ship for a London Pub after hour.

I took this video back on the second Meraviglia cruise after the pandemic. Notice how completely empty the ship looks. I kind of miss those days.  Meraviglia Sky Lounge

I mean, that's their mistake. They think they're the only option. We're spending more money next year to do an Oasis-class ship, just to go somewhere different. That's lost money to MSC.

We have zero interest in the older/smaller ships, simply because they don't appeal to kids, which we have. If it's an Oasis class ship vs. MSC Divina, I'll spend more and do the Oasis class ship. Not trying to diss the Divina either, it's nice for what it is, but on an eight night cruise with children, I would like there to be some features that appeal them more and will look at all options, not just what MSC offers.

Now, if I'm OK visiting just places that I've already been to, that's when I pick MSC. It really depends, but they would be wise to do a few special options every so often on newer vessels. Could be a great way to boost the off season or something.
