Sea Trek Helmet Dive -is this a good excursion? Its expensive but looks fun. Grand Turk

What is a good to do San Juan from 8-3, I will have my girls 15 and 17 with me. So probably not the Casinos or Rum factory...

If u are in San Juan during dusk i will recommend this one Bioluminescence Bay Kayak Tour the water has some kinds of things that if u go in it u will glow in the dark!!

You can also see Bioluminescence at night while the ship is moving at sea, just look at the waves crashing off the ship and it will appear light blue.

We did the semi-sub in the Grand Bahamas two summers ago. If you are claustrophobic or prone to motion sickness, it can be the shore excursion from you know where. The ride out to the reef was not bad. Once we got there you go below deck. The area is like a trapezoid with the heads swinging back and forth like pendulums. I was only able to take 3 or 4 minutes. I went topside and sat there bobbing for about 1/2 hour. Eventually I was joined by my wife and a girl with her grandmother. I would have made it back to the dock in tact if not for the odor of the boat exhaust combined with the perfume from the person sitting next to me.

I like boat rides, but on this one, proceed with caution.

Take them to Old San Juan it is lovely, charming and historical. It looks more Spanish then Madrid. Most of all after nine or ten in the morning there is great shopping. There is a Coach and a Ralph Lauren outlet. Make sure if you have the time you go to El Morro which is a great historical treasure. Do not do the rum factory as they ply you with free drinks. If it is a Sunday there is a lovely crafts market open in the main plaza. Go inside the main cathedral where Ponce deLeon is buried. Buy shaved ice off the cart that are flavored with fruit syrup. They are refreshing and delicious and an authentic treat as in the old days. Sunday the stores may not open until eleven or twelve.

If they are shoppers that is fine, and old san juan is not a bad place to wander around and take it all in. If you do that, try to go to lunch at the El Convento Hotel. Very nice and an old historic bldg worth seeing.

But for my money, I'd take them on a tour of El Yunque, the rain forest. It is truly amazing and can easily be done in the time you have available, perhaps even with a little time at the end to shop in old san juan. The shopping you can find in any Caribbean port. The rain forest is pretty unique. Just my 2 cents
