Hello,

Somebody 'from the inside' dropped me the following information on the 2007/2008 Australia itineraries on Mercury. I have asked for the day by day specifics, but no answer yet.

11/12 - 11/23 11 nights Ensenada - Honolulu

11/23 - 12/09 15 nights Honolulu - Auckland

12/09 - 12/23 14 nights Auckland - Sydney

12/23 - 01/06 14 nights Sydney - Auckland

01/06 - 01/20 14 nights Auckland - Sydney

01/20 - 02/03 14 nights Sydney - Auckland

02/03 - 02/17 14 nights Auckland - Sydney

02/17 - 03/02 14 nights Sydney - Auckland

03/02 - 03/16 15 nights Auckland - Honolulu

03/16 - 03/28 12 nights Honolulu - Ensenada

Best Regards,

Floris

While X may treat the itineraries as a big secret, the ports do not:

http://www.sydneyports.com.au/Cruising/CruiseSchedule.asp

http://www.portofnapier.co.nz/Shipping/CruiseSchedule.asp

...just two examples, that confirm that the Mercury is really going down under. You probably might "reverse engineer" the entire itineraries by checking the port websites.

...or you might wait until may 11...

I guess I did pretty good for someone on the "outside". I posted this a couple of days ago and it shows more detail of what to expect like the overnights in Sydney. They do pretty good, saving three days of fuel with that! Wish I could win a cruise for a prize.

Asterisks (*) are on the books of that port.

*11/23 Honolulu

16 day cruise (really 15 days crossing dateline) to be in AKL on Sun 12/9. If it follows the Legend of the Seas cruises it will go to Auckland, stopping in a couple of Haw islands and Tahiti.

Dec 9 Auckland (For 14 day cycle from Sundays, as it is in Sydney on 12/23)

10 prob Tauranga since Napier schedule lists it as coming from Taur

11 prob at sea

* 12/12 Napier

13 prob Wellington since napier schedule lists it as going to Wellington

14 NZ city

* 12/15 Dunedin

16 Prob At sea

17 Prob At sea

* 12/18 Hobart

* 12/19 Melbourne

20 Mel to Syd is usually one sea day so may stop elsewhere, or go slow

21 prob At sea

* 12/22 syd AR 9a

* 12/23 syd Sun turnover day

* 12/24 syd LV 6p

25 prob at sea

* 12/26 mel

27 no schedules found, which implies NOT those ports with schedules

28 may be totally different route to AKL, Interesting!!

  • 2 weeks later...

I am so tempted to book on one of these trips. I adore New Zealand...I even got a price quote for these when I was on Zenith last week.

The only thing that is stopping me right now is the 14 hour plane ride from San Francisco. The last time I went, Air New Zealand was having super amazing specials in honor of their new service from San Francisco, so we scored business class tickets for less than half the usual price. But now...no such luck. Celebrity quoted me $1800 per person coach from San Francisco (I've seen it as high as $2100 coach). I don't even want to think about what business class will cost. The airfare will be more than the per-person Sky Suite price!
