Sailaway/on Ryndam/I was SO SAD!!!!

I always love when the ships have the navigation flags strung over aft pool for sailaway parties. I've noticed on a few recent cruises that some were a bit faded and perhaps needed replacing.

 

Well......they got replaced on Ryndam. They're now gone!!!! :(

 

They had a string of the triangle plastic non-flags over aft pool for our sailaway that are the type the car dealers put out for Washington's Birthday car sales. It was awful!!! A string of red plastic tacky, cheesy ugly triangles.....I refuse to call them flags as they are not!!!

 

I was so sad to see Navigation flags no longer fly on Ryndam.

Yes, that's definitely sad! I would/will miss them. Just another money-saving practice, I suppose? Where will it end?

I don't believe we had them on the Amsterdam either. In fact, we had no flags. I think the cruise before ours had Christmas lights strung up there and they never replaced the flags before our sailing.

 

At least I don't recall seeing the flags ... but maybe someone else (Kakalina?) who was on that 30-day itinerary might remember?

We didn't have the flags on either the Ryndam or Amsterdam for any sail away parties.
