Rose Hall Great House

I've seen some mixed reviews of the Rose Hall Great House. I'd like to check it out, but I'm wondering if we could possibly do it on our own with a taxi instead of taking the excursion with rccl. I don't really want to hit the "shopping area" that the excursion describes.

Does anyone know how far of a drive it is from the port?

I don't know the distance but it was only about a 15 minute drive from the port of Mo Bay. Belinda from A-Zjamaicaplanners provided us with a great day which included the Rose Hall Mansion tour and several hours of beach time. She and her drivers are excellent helping you to really experience what you wish on their beautiful island. We did want to get Coffee so did shop but skipped Margarittaville. Rates also very reasonable and we were the only passengers. Give her a try.
