Bartender with Typhoid Fever!!

I just saw the Empress on the news; a bartender boarded at the end of April with Typhoid Fever. She was restricted to her cabin on May 11th and hospitalized when the ship docked on the 13th. Apparently, the CDC isn't too concerned, but they are checking to see if any passengers had flu like symptons with high fever.

The bartender boarded in Philly after a vacation in India. They said she worked until she became ill with the above symptons.

Oh dear! I hope no one else got it!

 

(Makes me doubly glad I was vaccinated against it in 2002 for when I was travelling in rural Southeast Asia.)

We were on the cruise at the end of April (Phila. to Bermuda). I'd like to know more. Friends saw it on tv, but can't seem to find anything online. Anyone?

Try the Channel 10 CBS website. I'm sure you can find it via your browser. Unfortunately, I don't know it. Why not watch the news tonight and I'm sure they will mention the website. The story was on again about 5 minutes after 11.
