Checking in on the BOTS question

Recommended Posts

There is no "set time" you can board, it totally depends on how quickly the previous group is cleared and off the ship. In most cases, this can be done fairly quickly and in others, if some people do not report to customs as requested, this can hold everything up. Sometimes we have boarded at 10:30, other times at 12:30 (after 13 cruises)....

Have you ever boarded then left the ship to go into a town .

Our cruise sets sale at 7pm from Barcelona,

My thoughts are to check out of our hotel and transfer our lugage etc to the ship then check out the city.

Our hotel ( New Hotel Prestige Congress ) is closer to the docks but offer free shuttle serivce to downtown as well as the airport.

We have done so on occasion. However, we like to board early and explore and get acquainted with the ship before the crowds arrive, so sometimes even though we have planned to get back off, we have failed to do so. We also usually arrive in the port of departure at least one day early so that we can do our exploring before we have to board the ship. On both of our westbound transatlantics, we spent several days sightseeing in London and Paris before transferring to Harwich to board the ship.
