easy22 Posted June 23, 2006 Author #2 Share Posted June 23, 2006 when i uploaded the charts, the we site disassembled them. sorry. information is still very useful if you can cut and paste it back into chart form. we cut apart each country then carried them in our wallets each day. it is very much appreciated to try to use at least hello and thank you in each country's language. make some friends! Guest LetMeGo Posted July 26, 2006 #9 Share Posted July 26, 2006 A couple of other useful words in Finnish are related to the opening times of shops... I could maybe try to phoneticise ( :p ) them later, but you would mostly just see them written. avoinna; auki = open suljettu = closed ma(anantai) - pe(rjantai); arkisin = mon - fri; weekdays la(uantai) = sat su(nnuntai) = sunday Some general rule of opening times for shops: From May to August (and Nov-Dec) shops are not allowed to be open on sundays. During the summer and christmas time they can be open on sundays after noon. Smaller shops close around 2pm on saturdays, and might not be open on sundays at all. Also, remember that there is a 24h clock in use. 1 pm is marked as 13.00, and 6 pm is 18.00. :D
