tomcarson Posted July 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2004 Any firm dates on when the Grand, Golden and Star will have Movies Under the Stars? I have heard guesses at dry dock but haven't seen any real information yet.
TexasRed Posted July 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2004 I am curious as well, we are booked on the Grand in December, and I know there is supposed to be a short dry-dock right before that. If anyone has any info please let us know. Judy

bdjam Posted July 26, 2004 #18 Share Posted July 26, 2004 Maybe we haven’t heard any more about absolute dates because they’ve found it structurally impossible to do. We can hope, anyway.

Blackrobe Posted July 26, 2004 #20 Share Posted July 26, 2004 The Grand is being refurbished prior to the beginning of the Galveston stay. The betting is that the equipment for Movies Under the Stars will be installed at that time.
TexasRed Posted September 10, 2004 #21 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Has there been any news lately about the Grand getting Movies Under the Stars?
euphscott Posted September 10, 2004 #22 Share Posted September 10, 2004 The Grand is reported (via calls to Princess) to be fit for the screen prior to it's Galveston run in dry dock. It will debut in Galveston if all goes well. All the reports I have read (Princess press releases) only The Grand, Golden, and Star will be receiving the upgrade. They have gone to great pains to indicate Diamond and Sapphire will NOT get the retrofit. Plans may have changed, but that has been the stated intention. MNYTRPS2GO2 Posted September 11, 2004 #25 Share Posted September 11, 2004 I hope they leave some of the fleet free of this. I would much rather they keep the covered pool areas. How many people at a time can really participate in viewing these movies? I also heard that they show a Tina Turner concert during the day. If this is true whatever happened to being able to relax poolside in the daytime listening to steel drums? At this stage of my life I don't need Rock Climbing, Ice Skating or Dive in(?)movies. No I'm not a cranky old lady and yes I do stay up after 10 pm. I'm also not someone who has cruised for many yesrs and yearns the old days. I would just like a stress free low key cruise vacation.
