Spirit and Smoke Allergies?

Hi

Just booked for the Spirit on 8/13. Real excited! First cruise!

But I just read that smoking is allowed in all cabins? Arent there any that are designated non-smoking? I dont have anything against smokers per se, but I am very allergic to smoke. If my cabin smells of smoke, I wont be able to sleep there.

Ironically, my dad smoked until I was 12. So I know how hard it is to get smoke out of bedding, drapes and such. Any ideas/suggestions on how to avoid a potential problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Never had a problem with the smell of smoke in the cabin on any of 12 cruises I have been on, 2 of them on NCL. I have asthma and can't be around smoke either so I completely understand as this is an issue that always concerns me when I am on vacation. In NYC you can't smoke in any of the restaurants, bars or clubs anymore so I got used to that already. On the ship I believe the only places where people can smoke (besides their cabin) is in the casino and on certain areas on the deck (outside). All of the dining venues are smoke-free! As is the main showroom where they have those incredible shows each evening. Enjoy your first cruise! It's addictive, you will come back wanting to book your next cruise! We're leaving Saturday on the Spirit. I can't wait!

We cruised the SPIRIT 6/3 and our cabin had no leftover smoke smells anywhere. The casino was VERY smoky and there were a few cabins on our deck that heavy smokers occupied...Just walking by those 2 cabins was like walking through the casino....UGH..Overall everyplace else was smoke and smoke smell free.

There were always the odd people that ignored the smoking rules and walked around smoking in non smokin areas..but not many

You can also smoke in the Spinnaker Lounge. (half of it)

I think you have your answer. Never have we smelled any smoke in a cabin, I couldn't tell you if smokers were in there the week before or not. Yes, Spinnkers allows smoking on one side, a few of the bars also allow some smoking. most of the smoke complaints do come from the casino. Right now there is no smoking and non smoking areas, just like Vegas. Eventually this may change, but it's hard to please eveyone. Enjoy your cruise and don't let this worry you. NMnita
