HC Accessible Cabins on Carnival or RCCL

Really hard to answer your question, but I will try. The closets have a rack that is lowered for WC users. Sinks are lower-toilets should be higher and there are roll in showers with a seat that lowers from the wall. No steps into the bathroom or the shower.I booked regular rooms until I got to the point where I am really unsteady on my feet. Need to use my walker inside the cabin. Use my scooter outside the room, but store it in the room. There are not many handicapped rooms. Sounds like you would do ok in a regular room. Not sure how a bad back could really be accommodated except with a firmer mattress.

HC cabins are larger so a wheelchair can maneuver and are designed for wheelchair or mobility devices. The door way into the cabin is wider so a wheelchair or mobility device can get thru it. The bathroom has no lip to step over to get into it. The sink is lower so a wheelchair can get underneath it. The bathroom has a roll in shower with a seat in it. The balcony has a ramp for a wheelchair.

Does your wife travel with a walker or any mobility device?
