Freeport for Half Moon Cay???

My friend and I went to Freeport..there is not much to do there. I was no impressed by the scenery..very industrialized...crazy cab drivers there to! We did take a cab to the beach and relaxed. I guess you could go parasailing..but other than that there is not much to do there. Oh, we did go on a glassbottom boat ride..we even got a slice of bread to feed the hungry, waiting fish. Small fish..no sharks! Just keep your fingers crossed you dont go to Freeport!:)

When we were in Freeport we booked the kayak and snorkel excursion to Peterson Caye.... the kayaking in the ocean was interesting and the snorkeling was my first time and it was really quite an experience.... I think each port is what you make of it....

hey Tamara-

Just catch a van from the Pier where you get off at for 5 bucks per person one way and go to the beach. There are some nice dining and bar spots, but all in all swimming is the only thing to do...

Just grin and keep drinking..Dont think to much on what to do if this or that doesnt work out...Keep looking back at what all happened to me..LOL

You will be fine!

Have fun

I loved Freeport! Great Casino, good beaches, we did a Dolphin Encounter shopped and walked around a lot.

Just because where they park the boat is an industrial area does not mean the rest of the island sucks - it doesn't - you really can make the best of it!

I liked Freeport...

It was a Monday afternoon, I was on the beach in the Bahamas...it was nice.

Picked up a cab, went to Port Lucaya, browsed the junk shops, went to the beach across the street, changed clothes in a very nice and clean hotel bathroom, headed back over to the International Bazaar area, went to Rum Runners and had the BEST conch fritters and Kalik beer, and then headed back to the ship. Good stuff.

I want to do an excursion thing this time while we are there in October, but I think we will end up doing the exact same thing again...it was nice the first time...

Stay on the boat............Sorry Freeport would not be my favorite stop. The people are nice there is just almost nothing there to see. They have really have had it bad the last couple of years with hurricanes lots of damage. If you just want to take a cab ride to a local beach you will find the ocean beautiful and the beaches sandy.

Freeport is very boring in my opinion...I didn't like it at all.

But make Freeport you beach relaxing port, purchase some souvenirs that says BAHAMAS. Save and spend your money at the other ports. There is really nothing to do, International Bazzar is still recovering from hurricane damage, Our Lucaya is where you want to go, there you will find all types of water sports.

Hope you have fun
