davehaj Posted August 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2006 Does anyone know what is the latest time that you can do a name change. We are leaving on the 19th of August. Thanks, Davehaj.
shipty2 Posted August 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2006 I just called Carnival yesterday about this as we have to change one in our group for our August 20 sailing. Up to 72 hours prior as they have to supply the passenger manifest to homeland security.

Up to 72 hours prior as they have to supply the passenger manifest to homeland security. It is a myth that the manifest must be supplied 72 hours prior to departure. It must be provided 72 hours prior to return to the US. I never have been able to figure out how this bit of misinformation got started. Carnival, of course may have any rule that they want, so it is entirely possible that they are requiring 72 hours but it has nothing to do with homeland security. Try the following section in the code fo federal regulations: 33cfr160.212 Notice it doesn't mention departure
salty dingo Posted August 13, 2006 #9 Share Posted August 13, 2006 It is not 72 hours for planes... you can still buy a last-minute air ticket. They do have to supply names on international arrivals a certain amount of time ahead, but it is not 72 hours!
